Prices now start at $429 through the carrier
AT&T has slashed prices for its range of first-generation iPads equipped with 3G radios, bringing $100 discounts for each model. The latest cuts arrive after the carrier already discounted the devices by $100, enabling customers to purchase the base model with 16GB of storage for $429. The 64GB model appears to be discounted by $300 off its original price.
AT&T's website currently lists the 32GB model as out of stock, while the 64GB variant is listed with the same $529 price tag as the 32GB edition. A report from The Loop suggests the 64GB pricing should be $629; the reason for the discrepancy remains unclear.
Prices directly through the carrier are significantly lower than Apple's own cost, which only reflects $100 off the original retail numbers.
